Can a bio student(PCB) opt artificial neural intelligence as a career after 12th?
hi you need to have maths as well to do any course in artificial intelligence, and it has much higher scope abroad. if you like brain, you can become a neurologist or neurosurgeon or a psychiatrist, good luck
Nimhans Bangalore is a specialized institute for these studies.
A strong case in medicine goes a long way in these studies.
All the best!
Hey Krishnashish,
From your question, I am assuming that despite opting for PCB in Class 12, you are more inclined towards pursuing a future which involves engineering or other subjects related to technology and not strictly those related to medicine. You do not have to worry about not having maths as a subject as even otherwise, there is a plethora of options available to you which will allow you to combine your interests with your background in science.
If you are not completely discounting a future in the medical line, then apart from MBBS, there exist numerous paramedical and allied health courses such as Bachelor of Perfusion Technology, Bachelor of Audiology and Speech Pathology and Bachelor of Optometry which involve intense use of technology for medical purposes and could prove to be of considerable interest to you.
Apart from these, there are a wide range of BSc courses which will enable you to pursue a future in a variety of areas requiring the use of technology. The most prominent ones among these include BSc degrees in Radiology, Genetics, Forensic Sciences, Bioinformatics, Medical Laboratory Technology, Earth and Environmental Science, Medical Radiotherapy Technology, Nuclear Medical Technology and many more.
Another option open to you which may be well-suited to your interests includes a degree in Biotechnology, which you can pursue either as a BSc or even a B.Tech course at certain institutes.
Regarding your specific interest in Artificial Neural Intelligence, UPES Dehradun offers an M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Neural Networks which will require you to have a B.Tech/BE qualification. You could opt for a B.Tech in Biotechnology and opt for a M.Tech in this course if interested.
An off-beat course you could consider exploring given your interest in such niche areas is the four-year Bachelor of Science (Research) programme offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) in Bangalore. Competition will ofcourse will be very tough but if you feel you are ready to dig deep into a pure science and research-based field, then this will be a very good option.
Apart from all of the above science-related options, you have numerous non-science options in Arts and Humanities subjects available to you as well. Remember, the sky is the limit when it comes to making a career so think hard and decide well. I hope the information I have provided helps you in this. Feel free to ask if you any more questions. All the very best!
