Hello Aspirant
You are not allowed to change your caste under any circumstances. You will alloted seat on the basis of your initial caste which you have given at the time of registration. Your name, gender, parents name and caste are one time basis input and cannot be changed under any circumstances. Hence one must really be very careful when they put their information at the time of initial registration.
Good Luck

Hello,
NO YOU CAN'T!!!!!!
Everybody has only ONE original CATEGORY to which they belong. And, If Someone Wants to register through the Reserved categories, they need to Produce their CASTE CERTIFICATE at the time of JEE registration and also during admission.
Now, the thing is, if you are General, YOU SHOULD NEVER THINK OF APPLYING THE NEXT TIME THROUGH A RESERVED CATEGORY, because that asks for a VALID CERTIFICATE.
And if you're from some Reserved Category, And you registered as a General candidate, Then you may register the next time with your Original Category ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE CERTIFICATE PROVING THAT YOU REALLY BELONG TO WHAT YOU ARE CLAIMING.
I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.

Hello,
JOSAA handles Jee based counsellings in all India whereas Jac handles it in only Delhi for four Delhi based institutes. You know now jee mains and advanced result have been out. From your problem it seems that you have opted for general category at the time of admission of jee. Now you want to change it to obc. But it seems very hard. You can commit your problem at the reporting time of institute you want to join. Now you can't edit your caste at jee portal. And you have been behaved as general category student in your result. You have also gotten a general category rank. And in counselling you will get seat by general quota but not in OBC. So the institute might refuse but it can be solved by them only.
I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.
