Can I get admission in NITs if I got only 72% marks in 12th boards and I belongs to general category?
Well brother, I've answered this question quite a few times before.
It is clearly mentioned in JoSAA manual that students are not allowed to take part in the counseling if they fall short with the 75% mark.
So, you won;t be allowed to take part in JoSAA counseling and hence cannot expect an NIT
So I would recommend you to try in JAC or thapur institute.
1. Ther are equivalent of mediocre to top NIT's
2. They have lesser cut off of board marks
Thank You
You should know that, For admissions to NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs, you need to have secured a minimum 75% marks in class XII or equivalent exam or Be in the top 20 percentile in their class XII exam conducted by the respective board. For SC/ ST candidates, the eligibility criteria are to secure 65% marks in class XII or equivalent exam.As you are from General category, you can not get any NIT with these percentage.
