Admission to various courses after 12th are done through several entrance exams as well as on merit basis. It depends on what course one wants to pursue. For medical and engineering, usually various entrance exams are conducted. Students need to have a minimum required percentage in their major subjects which are related to the course in which they are seeking admission.
Since your profile suggests that you are a medicine aspirant, I will inform you regarding the same. So, for MBBS, exams such as NEET is conducted. The eligibility criteria for NEET exam is as follows:
NEET Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have completed a 10+2 with core courses of physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English from a recognised board.
- Aspirants who have completed Class 12 or equivalent are also eligible to apply for NEET.
- As on December 31, 2022, candidates must be 17 years old.
- The percentage necessary in class 12 for the NEET 2022 test is different for each category and may be seen below. NEET eligibility marks in class 12 are solely taken into account for PCB courses and are as follows: UR - 50%, OBC/SC/ST - 40%, PWD - 45 percent.
- The maximum NEET attempt limit for 2022 is unrestricted.
