Can you explain me opsc group A and group B related jobs and also which category belongs BDO and TAHSILDAR
Hi Ritesh,
In the OPSC civil services there are primarily three types or rather hierarchical categories:
- GROUP A- This is often referred to as the executive service and deals with the administration part of the departments. The joining rank after 2 years of probation as Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector is of SDO that is Sub Development Officer and would be responsible for all administrative, legislative and law and order related issues in a sub-block.
- GROUP B- This is also often referred to as executive service and in this service the officer is the head of a particular department of the state government.
- GROUP C- In this post, the employee is a senior official in any of the departments of the state governments.
In order to be BDO or Tehsildar, one has to join in the Group A services of the OPSC and then upon service and seniority and subsequent promotions the officer becomes a BDO.
BEST WISHES!
