Does NCERT syllabus enough for medical exams?
hi jiya, if you are looking for high score, just NCERT isnt enough, i shall tell you how you can prepare for NEET effectively,
Physics and chemistry- physics is considered one of the toughest subject for medical aspirants, but very interesting. choose any good book of your convinience, there are plenty of good books as many mentioned already. read the concepts thoroughly, understand them cover to cover, if you have doubts, clear them then and there. solve atleast 300 to 500 questions per chapter, check ,analyse and rectify your mistakes. solve again. the more you solve the merrier.initially you wont be getting many correct answers, but as you keep on doing am sure you will see your score rising. solve previous question papers too
Biology- in neet around 300 marks are from ncert text book itself, thats how it was when i gave my exam, so u need to thorough ncert first and then read any good book of your choice and solve as many questions as you can, always stay calm , cool and confident, hope this helps good luck

Focus on the concepts more than the data. Revise and Revisit them repeatedly.
User McQ books to boost up your memory and as a guide book
NCERT definitely covers the major domains a process three subjects of physics chemistry and Biology which you are needed to be well versed with
But if you have sufficient time and desire to know more than I would definitely recommend you to refer to books like SL Arora, HC Verma and Arihant from physics, op Agarwal and op Tandon from Chemistry and Truman, Veer Bala Rastogi for biology.
If you have been admitted to an institution like Aakash or Allen, the quality of the study material of the notes which they give are sufficient to cover the various aspects across the three subjects
Yes making self notes and revising them on a regular basis definitely helps
Key to success however is solving is Minions accuse as possible and more importantly appearing for mock examinations where I find blend of questions on all chapters across three subjects are given in a proper mix and the xpose you to the real time question answer solving scenarios where you can work upon your weaknesses and also handle question selection and time management skills, so that you can image your negative marking and scored the best possible from any examination paper and emergent flying colours with a decent rank
Hope this helps, thank you
HI Jiya Pant,
I would like to suggest you to go with NCERT as well as try solving MCQs so that you become able to build the concepts and answer with accuracy.
For NEET preparation , you need both .... the concept as well as the presence of mind. Sometimes it might happen that a very easy question seems to be difficult in language and hence we apply the great concept in it and tends to waste alot of time.
Accuracy and precision comes with practise. the more you practise, the more you accurate you will be and hence the more you score.
hope this might helps you.
If so, please leave in comment.
All the Best.
Study the concepts in depth, don't read superficially.
Try to clock 100 hours a week.
Maintain your health
Sleep is crucial, else you'll get exhausted before time.
Form a study group, discuss with friends
Stay motivated.
No pain no gain, you won't get this opportunity again. Make the most of it.
Donot waste time, invest time.
Revisions are the most important
It is said that hand written notes are well remembered than printed material, make your own notes, keep reading it again and again.
The best books you can refer to are the NCERT,
For biology, refer the following.
1) Trueman's Biology vol 1 and vol 2
2) Dinesh- Objective biology
3) Pradeep publication Biology
4) GRB'S Publication Biology.
For Physics refer to he following books.
1) H.C.Verma - Concepts of Physics.
2) D.C Pandey - Objective Physics.
3) Fundamentals of physics by Walker
4) Problems in Physics by I.E.Irodov
For chemistry you can refer the following books
1) O.P Tandon - Physical Chemistry
2) Morrison and Boyd - Organic Chemistry
3) Modern ABC's of chemistry
4) J.D.Lee Inorganic chemistry
5) Dinesh
Ncerts are mandatory to have, refer the rest of the books and find out which one suits you. I would advice you not to buy all the books but to refer them and see which one is better for you.
In the end it doesn't depend upon which book is better but how good can you understand the concepts
Also, for the general knowledge subscribe magazines, they will be useful.
Hope this helps.
Goodluck!
However, one thing that you must keep in mind is that, NCERT textbooks might only give you a rough outline of the prescribed syllabi. You will need some extra guidance and practice apart from following NCERT textbooks.
If you have joined some coaching institution, your mentors must be guiding you already regarding the same. Follow their study materials as well for those materials are prepared after keeping in mind the trends of the examinations in the recent past.
Most important for NEET/AIIMS is your NCERT books as these books include basic principles and concepts and provide accurate information.
BUT KEEP IN MIND YOU HAVE TO CLEAR ENTRANCE YOU ARE NOT DOING PhD so don't go by all books mentioned here and there
KEEP NCERT + ONE REFERNCE BOOK + MAXIMUM MCQS PRACTICE = Medical SEAT Apart from this, you can add upon it by following books
Biology -
Truemans Biology Vol. 1 & 2
Objective Biology by Dinesh
Pradeep Publications Biology
Physics -
Concept of physics by H C Verma
Fundamental of Physic by Pradeep
Objective physics by DC Pandey
Chemistry -
Arihant Organic Chemistry
Dinesh Chemistry Inorganic
Physical Chemistry by O P Tandon
Objective NCERT at your fingertips Chemistry by MTG
Hope this helps!....BEST OF LUCK

NCERT books are helpful to clear your concepts and to build your basics strong.
Exercises which are given in NCERT books are very important. You can also refer to NCERT Exemplar. Sometimes, you can get direct question from NCERT books.
