PhD comes with a lot of hassles and not a simple playground. You need to understand what is the real intention for doing research. If you are clear then go for NET exams or the best thing would join as JRF and gan experience and later apply for scholarships to go abroad reputed asian countries like Taiwan and Singapore which invest a lot in research than India.

Phd is highest degree which one can pursue in all subjects. Exams like CSIR-UGC NET are conducted by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research India. Also various other institutes conductes other entrance exam for various subjects.

For more you should mention name of subject in which you wanted to pursue Phd.
