Dear Dipica,
If you study 2 papers in English for your B.Com course, you are eligible to take up MA in English, provided you have scored well in the same. After that you can go for an MPhil or doctoral studies and take up academic careers in English Language and Literature, if it suits you.
Your question does not make it very clear as to what sort of career you want to pursue. Assuming that your are interested in a career in which English plays a significant part, let us look at some other options as well.
You can definitley go for courses in English offered by the British Council which opens the doors for career avenues in teaching to corporate jobs.
Most importantly, you must take up English as a career option only if you have the confidence that you can succeed in this field of your choice. For this, you must read as much as possible, not just newspapers, but fiction and other genres as well. It appears that you don't read much since you made the mistake of using the word 'carrier', thinking that it means 'career'. Once you take up reading seriously, such mistakes will disappear on their own.
Work a bit hard on your grammar, use of capital letters too. You wrote in the past tense, "I wanted to pursue..." which should be in present tense, "I want to pursue..." Proper nouns like B.Com and English should begin with capitals. Maybe you raised the question without paying any attention to grammar, punctuation etc.
I am pointing out these mistakes as you want to pursue a career in English and such mistakes could prove fatal for your ambitions. So start earnestly, read a lot, pay some attention to grammar and a hugely satisfying and rewarding career awaits you. Best of luck!!!
