I am in 11 and want to beacame a theoritical physicist. P,lz easy guide me.
Greetings, aspirant
Becoming a theoretical physicist is one of the most difficult careers you can aspire to have. Getting a PhD in physics itself is nothing short of mind-breakingly difficult, but becoming a theoretical physicist is even more difficult.
However, the world still has theoretical physicists. As difficult as it may be, people still do it. And just like them, you can, too.
The first step to becoming a theoretical physicist would be getting a Bachelor's degree in a physics related field. After your Bachelor's, you have to aim for your master's. From here on, you can join research teams, research projects etc. As they grant you experience about how a unit of scientists and researchers functions. It also helps you build your knowledge base.
After you're confident about yourself and believe you're ready for a PhD, aim for a doctoral program. This portion of your educational life might be very difficult but that's the one that counts. You might want to find a mentor in this particular period of your life to guide you better. As you get your degree, start preparing your research papers and try to publish them under the guidance of the aforementioned mentor. After you get your PhD, opt for postdoctoral research, give appearances at seminars etc.
This research period of your life might look long and drab but eventually, if your research starts paying off, you might be offered a place in one of the ivy league Institutions of the world such as MIT, Stanford, Harvard etc.
In all honesty, it's a long and difficult road. And before you decide to tread on it, you should consult your family, professors and if possible, get in touch with a theoretical physicist that has experience about the field.
Hope this information helps
Best of luck!!
