if solid component is added then do reaction equilibrium disturb??why not??
Hello Riya,
No, the disturbance in equilibrium is quite low.
This depends on what component or solid you add into which reaction. Maybe the solid compound you add is unreactive to the compounds in the reaction.
In general, the solid compound added is solid in state, and therefore does not interact easily with the reaction. Being in solid state, they possess more lattice energy which increases there stability, reducing there reactivity. Being in solid state, the area exposed to the reactants, is quite less and due to less surface area, the reactivity is not affected. Unlike gases and liquids the solid compound does not dissolve into the reaction compounds, and accumulates in a specific area.
Due to all these reasons, there is negligible change in the reactivity of most of the reactions, and therefore the equilibrium is not disturbed.
Hope this helps
