Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs) are centres that provide facilities and opportunities for research and education in basic sciences. The courses provided are BS-MS, I.PhD, PhD. The various IISERs are located in Pune, Mohali, Kolkata, Tirupati, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal, Berhampur. The courses common in IISERs are Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences.

IISER is considered to be one of the premier institute after IISc and IITs along with NISER. You can get into BS-MS based on JEE, KVPY or IISER specific test marks. For I.PhD you can apply based on JGEEBILS/JAM score and PhD through GATE/JEST/UGC-JRF/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/JGEEBILS. You can also apply for Summer Internship at these institutes for May-June/July.
