Is GRE required for doing an MS in mechanical engineering in Germany?

- You must have good test scores of IELTS (above 7+) or TOEFL (above 90+ score ) for proof of English language proficiency .
- You must also provide proof of German language proficiency by having good scores in German language proficiency testing exams like TestDaf level 4 or DSH.
- You must also have your letter of recommendations (LORs) and Statement of Purpose (SOP) ready.
- You must also show proofs of extra curricular activities .
- Check the visa requirements too and make necessary arrangements.

Hi Srijith, for doing an MS in mechanical in germany, most of the colleges ask for a mandatory language proficiency exam which is nothing but IELTS/TOEFL scores. Most of the colleges in Germany ask for IELTS score. It is not mandatory to write GRE, but it is to take IELTS or TOEFL. A score of 7+ in IELTS or a score of 90+ in TOEFL is required for most of the colleges. A graduation criteria is set wherein you need to have minimum of 70% or 7.5 which is a mandatory criteria.
