Is it necessary to do your bachelor's degree from a renowned institution for becoming a lecturer ?
Hello,
I have mentioned below steps to establish a career as a lecturer.
Step 1: Completion of 10+2
Description: Students are required to complete 10+2 with an aggregate of 50 per cent of marks or equivalent from a recognised board.
Step 2: Qualify Entrance
Description: Several universities and colleges conduct entrance examinations to provide admissions. Candidates are required to prepare and appear in entrance examinations. On the basis of evaluation of candidates' performance in the entrance examination admissions are provided. There are several other colleges which provide admissions on the basis of 10+2 passing percentage.
Step 3: Bachelor
Description: Candidates are required to enrol themselves in bachelor's degree programme after successful completion of 10+2. It is not necessary to opt for a bachelor's degree from a renowned institution to become lecturer. The college or university should be approved by University Grants Commission.
Step 4: Post Bachelor
Description: After successful completion of a bachelor's degree programme candidates are required to enrol in a master's degree programme in the related specialisation.
Step 5: Post Master
Description: Candidates are required to opt for a M.Phil. (Master of Philosophy) or Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degree in the related specialisation. A Ph.D. is considered more valuable over M.Phil. A Ph.D. degree holder is eligible for conducting independent research while M.Phil. degree holder is not eligible for conducting independent research. The duration of a Ph.D. degree programme is 7-8 years while the duration of M.Phil. programme is 2 years. Candidates who have successfully completed a Ph.D. or M.Phil. degree programme are eligible for working as a lecturer in universities and colleges.
