obc category is genaral or obc in cental government

The Other Backward Class (OBC) is a collective term used by the Government of India to classify castes that are educationally or socially backward. It is one of several official classifications of the population of India, along with general castes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SCs and STs).
You category won’t change if you are in central government, it is OBC only.

The OBC category has now been divided into further two division :-
OBC
OBC-NCL
The Central OBC certificate is only valid at the central level if it has been issued by the central government and it is for the NORMAL OBC CATEGORY, i.e the people belonging to this category doesn't have reservation benefits and are treated the same as the general category whereas the OBC-NC certificate is for the people who belong to the Non Creamy Layer of the OBC CATEGORY ,i.e people with annual income less than 4.5 lakh and have reservations in the Government jobs as well as in the competitive examination.

It is different or separate from general category.
