on the basis of Fathers domicile certificate ,ward shall be eligible for 85% state quota in Maharashtra or not.
As you have specified your situation you can check the regulation applied to the candidates who are children of employees of the Government of Maharashtra and India. Such candidates are exempted from the domicile criteria and they are not required to pass Class 10 or/and Class 12 from the state considering they fulfil the below-mentioned criteria and present the requisite certificate at the time of document verification session. The regulations can be checked below in detail-
- Rules applied for children of employees of the Government of Maharashtra who are posted on deputation or transferred to a place outside the state of Maharashtra or transferred from outside to a place situated within the state-
- Candidates who are children of employees of Government of Maharashtra who have joined service since beginning at a place situated outside the State of Maharashtra but who have been transferred to a place situated within the State of Maharashtra shall be eligible for admission even though such candidates might not have passed the Class 10 and/or Class 12 or equivalent examination from the institutions situated outside Maharashtra state, provided that such an employee of Government of Maharashtra must have been transferred/deputed at a place of work located in the State of Maharashtra and also must have reported-for-duty i.e. joined the duty before the last date of document verification.
- The candidates belonging to the above-mentioned category shall be required to produce the essential certificates from the Office at which such an employee of Government of Maharashtra has reported for duty as a proof that such employee has joined the office and/or reported for duty before the last date of the counselling process. The certificate should contain the full name of the employee, designation, transfer order number and date, date of joining and present status of posting. A copy of transfer order should also be produced at the time of document verification.
- Ward of such employees of Government of Maharashtra who have been transferred or deputed to a place situated outside the State of Maharashtra or who have returned to the State of Maharashtra after initial transfer/deputation shall be also eligible for admission. Such candidates are required to produce the certificate from the Office at which such an employee of Government of Maharashtra has reported for duty. The certificate should contain the full name of the employee, designation, transfer order number and date, date of joining and present status of posting. A copy of transfer order should also be produced at the time of document verification.
- Rules applied to children of employees of the Government of India -
- The children of the employees of Government of India or its Undertaking shall be eligible for admission even though they might have passed Class 10 and/or Class 12 or equivalent exam from the institutions situated outside the State of Maharashtra, provided that such an employee of Government of India must have been transferred from outside the State of Maharashtra at a place of work, located in the State of Maharashtra and also must have reported for duty and must be working as on the last date of Document verification at a place located in the State of Maharashtra.
- The candidates belonging to the above mentioned category shall be required to produce the requisite Certificate from the Office at which such an employee of Government of India has reported for duty as a proof of the fact that such employee has joined the office and/or reported for duty before the cutoff date for eligibility i.e., the last date of submission of document verification. The certificate should contain the full name of the employee, designation, transfer order number and date, date of joining and present status of posting. A copy of transfer order should also be produced at the time of document verification.

In order to become eligible for 85% State Quota seats available in government medical colleges of Maharashtra, a candidate should be a domicile of the state. Only those candidates whose parent/s are an employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of India with specific regulations are exempted from this criterion. It is also required from the candidate to pass Class 10 and Class 12 from an institution located in the state. The seats are further divided for candidates belonging to different local areas. Out of the total seats available 30% of the seats are available for the candidates from the State, the remaining 70% of the seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to a specific region. The institutes will be divided regionally- Rest of Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Marathwada. Candidates who have completed Class 12 from these regions will be eligible for the 70% of the total seats of the institutions situated in these respective regions.
