Placement qurey

Placement is the first question that comes to anyone's mind while making decisions about choosing a B- school. Let me clarify one thing, placement is just one criteria of B- schools. It is just one of the many things that any MBA college provides to its students. Pursuing MBA is all about evolving oneself into a new individual with a number of good and bad learning experiences.
When it comes to placements, it is a function of many factors (not all dependent upon the college, few depends upon you too)
*past placement records of the college
*students' past profile
*Number of companies and recruiters
*Your potential to convert your shortlist from the company to a final call (what package are you able to bag, actually depends upon this factor)
For every college its average package is almost equal to its total academic fees of two years. Any college that you choose, its fees shall be equivalent to the annual package of average number of students. To simplify, the two year academic fees of IIMA is 21 lacs (rather it has been revised to this amount this year) and its annual average package is approximately 21.4 lacs too. Same is the case with any B- school that you think of.
Talking about the highest and lowest packages, it all depends upon the amount that recruiters negotiate to offer depending upon the roles that they open up. For instance, the highest package that was offered at IIMK for batch 2015-2017 was 38 lacs. The lowest ranges from somewhere around 7-9 lacs in any top college (including IIMs).
However it's always advisable to never look at extreme values of packages. In fact a median package view is a better parameter to check the placement scenario of a college over an average placement too.
A median package, is what the middle value of all packages offered to all the students is. It's slightly lower than the average package.
This was in general for any management college from IIMs to a private B- school. If you wish to know about any specific college, do comment.
Hope this helps.
