Hello Divya...
What are some good books for RRB junior engineer posts:-
The syllabus for the RRB JE and SE posts is more or less the same, except in case of General science, which is up to class 10 level for the former and up to class 12 level for the latter. The syllabus for the JE and SE posts include both technical and non-technical part.
The technical part contains a mix of dynamic engineering subjects like Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Computers, Instrumentation and measurement, Environment and pollution control and Engineering Drawing (Graphics), along with General science (except for JE (IT) and Chemical Metallurgical Assistant). Based on previous year patterns, most of the technical questions are from Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and General science.
The non-technical part consists of General Intelligence and Reasoning, Aptitude and General Awareness (especially current affairs and history).
You can refer the following books:
UPKAR'S Objective Electrical engineering-By P.K. Mishra (Contains some basic theory and chapter-wise MCQs with answer.
UPKAR'S Objective Mechanical engineering-By P.K. Mishra (Contains some basic theory and chapter-wise MCQs with answer (no solution).
UPKAR'S Objective Electronic engineering-By P.K. Mishra (Contains some basic theory and chapter-wise MCQs with answer.

This book contains MCQs (with answer) for all the topicsincluded in the technical and non-technical part. Solution is provided for very few important questions. It has one previous year solved question paper.

You can refer either of the above-mentioned books depending upon the post you have applied for. If you have applied for both JE and SSE posts, and want to pick one out of the two, i would suggest going with the 1st one.
5. Lucent's General Knowledge book (for General Awareness and General science part). For current affairs, read an English/Hindi daily (preferably The Indian Express or The Hindu). You can also follow the OnlineTyari website or download the OnlineTyari exam app.
This should sum up the more-than-basic preparation for the JE and SSE exam. However, for more detailed preparation, you can additionally read Science and Social studies book (mostly History) from class 6 to class 12, to strengthen your knowledge domain in the General Science and General Awareness field.
For previous year solved papers, you can refer Indian Railways-Technical grades' examination-By Arihant. I have heard most of the answers are error-free in this book. But, I don't know whether it has previous year JE/SSE papers or other technical exam papers.
I think this will help you..
