See the admission sessions for different boards are different. For example the admission cells for CBSE/ICSE schools opens in the end to the starting of the year as the session starts from mid year where as for state boards (mostly ) the notification are released at the end of the year. So depending on the board and the school you have to go and apply for the school. Now there can Personal Discussion sessions of the student and the parents which may decide that the student will be eligible or there can randomized selection procedures (in west bengal board most schools this rule is mostly followed). SO the piece of advice is that you should know which school you are interested in. Then go to the website of the school or social media handel of the school and follow it, you will get all the updates there or you can call the official contact number which you will get from the school website and get this discussed, the officials will provide you all the informations.

Getting admission to class 2 or 3 is easy. You have to consider the age of your son. 2nd standard child will have age around 6. You can select the school based on the board. Like CBSE, State board, ICSE and others. But don't push the child. Let him learn with pleasant environment.
