ME: India always had robust heavy-manufacturing industries like steel, metal, forging, automobile and mining. All these industries require steady inflow of fresh Mechanical engineering graduates. The starting salaries for mechanical engineers range from around Rs. 2 Lakh to Rs. 4.5 Lakh. It also depends on the institute & the organization.
Civil Engineering: Civil Engineers are usually required in every field some of them: Government Departments, Local Authorities, Civil Engineering Contractor, Civil Engineering Consultants. The starting salaries for Civil engineers range from around Rs. 3 Lakh to Rs. 4 Lakh.

All the branches are good in engineering it totally depends on your interest and passion. You should choose the branch according to your interest.
If we compare the branches then CCE has good scope followed by ECE, mechanical, civil, electrical and IT.
You should concentrate in your study to get good college. Always select a college with good placements. If you choose a top branch in average college then it is of no use as there will be no placements.
Try to score good marks in your exam to get top colleges like NITs and IITs.
