Answer (1)
NIOS is the most prominent board in India. It gives the students freedom to study from home. In
NIOS,
students have to prepare from home and give the examination for the whole syllabus at mentioned dates. NIOS is providing a number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level. It also offers Elementary level Courses through its Open Basic Education
Programmes(OBE). Government of India through a gazette notification vested NIOS with the authority to examine and certify learners registered with it upto pre degree level courses whether Academic, Technical or Vocational. Association of Indian Universities,
vide letter No . EV/11(354)/91/ 25 July, 1991
issued Equivalence of Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of NIOS.
State Board- Each state has its own state board, and the administrative authorities are over the educational ministry of that respective state. The educational structure, paper pattern and even the syllabus is not the same. It varies from one state to another. It is practically impossible to compare the results of two different state boards. Many times, their syllabus is not in line with the expected standards. But if a student wishes to pursue higher studies in the colleges of that particular state itself, then this proves to be a big advantage for him/her. It is mainly because of the fact that the students are already well-acquainted with the educational system of the state.
Both have their own advantages according to your comfortablilty. You need to first see your priorities and future, then decide the better one.
All the best
