Earnings; talking with respect to earnings, psychology is a lucrative field especially if you have the skills needed. AtAt t entry level, the remuneration varies approximately from Rs. 15000/- to Rs.18000/-. Established consultants in any of the fields of specialization can earn at an average between Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 or even more. you are paid even higher if you start as a school counselor. Clinical Psychologists with Phd who get into counselling and have a lot of experience can earn much more and many will charge on an hourly basis, which turns out to be very lucrative.
And as far as being a PCM student is concerned, keep in mind Psychology is not just a Humanities subject but also a science. We have B.Sc.degrees in science as well. And I would say that a science stream student does better than arts in this field. You can study psychology with combination of other science subjects in BSc say Maths+physics+psychology. You can study it with arts subjects in BA for example English literature+economics+psychology (that's my graduation combination actually) . I was a PCM+CS student as well and I did pretty well in Psychology in my graduation. So I think having a science background is not a hinderahi rather a blessing for studying psychology and it's scientific methods.
I hope I was of help. Feel free to ask anything anytime.
I wish you a bright future.
