why is the author comparig love and selfishness
Dear Sekhar, they say love and selfishness are twins. Swami Vivekananda says" Love is expansion and selfishness is contraction." He compares love with selfishness because is difficult to love someone beyond yourself if you are selfish. By being selfish, we are limiting and confining this world to negativity. Love is cheerful, joyous, compassionate, forgiving, generous. Love is patient. It is kind. It does not envy and does not boast. Love does not keep a record of wrongs. Love protects, trusts, hopes and preserves. None of them are even possible with selfishness. Love never fails but selfishness fails you. So, it is only apt that the author compare love with selfishness.
