The eligibility criteria for admission into UG engineering program is as per the norms approved by government of AP from time to time.

 There are two types of categories:
1) The seats will be filled as per the norms approved by the government of AP.
2) Lateral entry candidates shall be admitted as per the norms approved by government of AP.

The admission to the B.Tech course is through a State-Level Entrance Test called the "Engineering, Agricultural Sciences and Medical Common Entrance Test" (EAMCET), conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Seats are filled by the Convener of EAMCET based on the rank secured in EAMCET and as per the rules of reservation in force.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

A Candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other 10+2 level examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate as equivalent thereto.
