• Admissions to MEI Polytechnic for the above Diploma programs are monitored and controlled by the Directorate of Technical Education in Karnataka.
• Admission to diploma courses is based on merit in each category of reservation. Out of the total seats, 50% of the seats are reserved for various groups of society. The remaining 50% of the seats are allotted based on the marks scored in the SSLC for Technical Courses.

The selection of the students for admission to first-year diploma courses in Engineering is based on the result of S.S.L.C/ CBSE or any other Examination Equivalent to it, as recognized by the Karnataka Secondary Board, Bangalore. The Admission is subject to the final approval of DTE, Bangalore. The following documents are to be submitted during the admission process.

Passed 10th Std./ SSC examination. Obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.

The Candidate should pass the Eligibility conditions governed by the Director of Technical Education, Bangalore, which are as follows:

• He/She must have passed the S.S.L.C/CBSE Examination and studied Mathematics and Science subjects compulsorily with a minimum of 35% marks in each subject.
• PUC passed/failed can apply.
• ITI-passed candidates will get lateral entry to the 3rd Semester.
• Non-Karnataka students should obtain an eligibility certificate from the Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore. However, the eligibility rules framed by DTE, from time to time, are applicable.
