The admission to Diploma (Engg.) courses will be based on the merit of qualifying exams i.e. 10th class. Ranks based on inter-se Merit of 10th class.

Lateral Entry:

Admission of the candidates to the Diploma level courses under the lateral entry scheme who fulfill all other conditions for admission shall be made based on merit.

 Candidates are admitted to different Polytechnics through counseling after qualifying for the Entrance Examination conducted by the Joint Entrance Examination Council ( JEEC ), Lucknow. All the reservations are effective as per UP government rules.

Pass in 10th examination from the Board of School Education, Haryana, or an equivalent examination from a recognized board/ university with 35% marks (33% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category or Kashmiri Migrants Category)
Compulsory pass in Maths & Science subjects. – (Subject to change by State Govt. decision if any)

Lateral Entry:

Candidates who have appeared/ are appearing in the qualifying ITI or 10+2 with PCM or 10+2 vocational examination to be held during the current session shall also be eligible to apply for admission subject to the condition that the candidate proves his/her eligibility criteria at the time of reporting at the allotted institute.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: For the students from ITI getting admission in The lateral entry in diploma stream i.e. in 2nd year, they will have to undergo a course in Applied Science in 3rd semester and 4th semesters in addition to the prescribed course of III and fourth semesters of diploma. Exemption may be accorded by the Board depending upon the branch in which they are admitted e.g., in case any student has studied Engg. Drawing at 10 + 2 level, he may be exempted from the examination of Engg. Drawing. The Board will prescribe a curriculum for these additional courses.

A candidate seeking admission in the Diploma in Engineering should have passed the 10th Std./ SSC examination. Obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
