Admission is through on the SLIET Entrance Exam.

A candidate seeking admission to a Diploma in Engineering should have passed the 10th or High School Examination or its equivalent of an approved Board with the second year marks obtained in +2. 

Lateral Entry

1. ITI with two years (who have passed the 10th level school leaving examination before admission to ITI courses) with a minimum of 60% marks from any institution of Punjab/another state.

2.10+2 vocational examination in various branches with a minimum of 60% marks from any institution of Punjab/another state.

3.10+2 science with a minimum of 60% marks from any institution of Punjab/Other state.

4. Two-year certificate course with a minimum of 60% marks from SLIET longwall and have A Punjab Domicile. In the event of vacancies being unfilled, candidates who have passed the ITI at least one year (who have passed the 10th level school leaving examination before admission to ITI courses) or 10+2 Board shall also be eligible to be considered for admission.

Matric pass (Pass in English, Mathematics and Science is compulsory) from a State Education Board / CBSE / ICSE / National Open School or an equivalent examination recognized / approved by MHRD, Government of India. Those who are appearing in matriculation examination may also apply.
