Candidate should qualify for the NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) of the current year.

There shall be a uniform NEET for admission to the undergraduate dental courses in each academic year conducted in the manner as prescribed by the National Board of Examination or any other authority appointed by the Central Government on this behalf. The overall superintendence, direction, and control of the NEET shall vest with the Council.

The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, Council, or University and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together and must have passed in English. For candidates belonging to OBC minimum qualifying marks is 45% and SC/ST is minimum 40%. The candidate must attain the minimum age of 17 years at the time of admission.

• Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together for the qualifying examination are only eligible for admission. Relaxation of 10% marks (5 marks) will be granted to SC/ST & OBC candidates, subject to the production of community and income certificates obtained concerned authority. SC/ST candidates need only a pass in the examination.
• Candidates who have passed the B.Sc degree (three year course) examination of the universities recognized by the UGC as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biochemistry main and any one or two of the above subjects as subsidiaries are also eligible for admission, provided they have secured not less than 50% marks for the main and subsidiary subjects taken together subjects to the relaxation in the marks provided in clause (a) for scheduled castes/scheduled tribes and socially and educationally backward classes and on condition that they have passed the pre-degree examination of the UGC recognize Universities with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or any examination approved by those Universities as equivalent to the pre-degree.
