Entrance / Selection test: Selection of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination held by University or competent authority.

• Be of a minimum of 17 years of age as on 31.12
• Having passed the 10+2 examination in Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 45% marks are also eligible to apply.
•  Have aggregate marks of a minimum of 45% in the above qualifying examination. 
• For S.C./S.T. candidates, the above qualifying marks are 40 %. 
• Have passed Odia up to the ME standard. (For candidates seeking admission in the Govt. College).
• Be either domicile/ permanent resident /native of Odisha but currently residing outside Odisha (candidate seeking admission in Govt College of Nursing, Berhampur and 85% of seats (Govt quota) in Private INC recognized institutions) (Candidates from other states are also eligible to apply to take admission under 15% management quota in private nursing institutions) (Recognised by the INC).
• Be medically fit to undergo the course. 
• Locomotor disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% will be taken into consideration for the Physically Handicapped category.

1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31^st December of the year in which admission is sought.
2. Minimum education:
   • A candidate should have passed in the subjects of PCB and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination (10+2).
   • Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central government having science subjects and English only.
   • A candidate belonging to SC/ST or other backward classes, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 45% as stated above.
3. Candidate shall be medically fit.
   • Candidate shall be admitted once in a year.
   • Reservation Policy:
   • For disabled candidates : 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomoter to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each nursing programme.

• Note: A committee to be formed consisting of medical officer authorized by  medical board of state government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidates have the disability of  locomoter of 40% to 50%.

  1. 5% of total marks is relaxed for SC/ST candidates
  2. Any other reservation as per the State Govt.

Note: Reservation shall be applicable within the sanctioned number of the seats by INC and not above it.
