The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 97 institutes for the academic year. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.

A Candidate for admission to the Five-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate examination (10+2) of the Board of Intermediate Education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as subjects or any other examination.

The candidate passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with 50% marks in aggregate and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 examination. OR Passed 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject having obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the aggregate and Qualifying NATA (Or) Any other Aptitude Test conducted by Competent Authority of the State Government/ UT.
