Admission shall be made on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination, in the entrance examination, or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/Government/University/UT Administration.

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. program should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the following programs.

(i) B.Ed

(ii) BA B.Ed, B.Sc B.Ed

(iii) B.El.Ed

(iv) D.El.Ed with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each).

• The candidate should have passed the qualifying examinations after a period of 12 years of study with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
• Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the institution a certificate of medical fitness from an authorized medical officer stating that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic course.
• The minimum educational requirements shall be passing of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12-year course) OR
• Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree examinations (10+2) OR
• An equivalent with 12 years of schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with a minimum of 45% marks (PCBE); for SC/ST candidates, the minimum percentage of marks is 35%.
• Age Limit: A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Certificate:

• The Candidates who have passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Course Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the University.
• The Candidate has to furnish the following documents in original and one set of Xerox copies of Statement of Marks of Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (+2 Course or Equivalent Examination) & Transfer Certificate.
