A candidate who has passed the Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. / 10+2 / Intermediate or equivalent Qualifying Examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio‐Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks.
For, SC, ST, Category I, and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B) Category candidates, the minimum mark is 40% in aggregate.
Provided that, the marks obtained by the candidate in Bio‐Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science will be considered in place of Chemistry, in case the marks obtained in Chemistry are less for the required aggregate percentage, only for determination of eligibility and not for the determination of rank, in respect of Engineering / Technology courses.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
