The student should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics/Biology/ as option subjects, along with English as one of the languages of study, and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects.
In the case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward classes ( category 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B ), the minimum marks for eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

The Candidate Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category), subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
