Admission Details
Admission is offered only as per the guidelines issued by the Government and on the basis of merit. Fifty percent of the total seats are filled by Govt. from the rank list prepared by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in accordance with merit and reservation principles followed by Govt. The remaining 50% of seats are filled by the Management of which 35% are on a merit basis from among the entrance qualified candidates and 15% from the Non-Residential Indian category, who are not required to have passed the entrance examination. The rates for fees for each category are as fixed by Govt. of Kerala from time to time.
The candidate should qualify for the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination of the Government of Kerala (KEAM).
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission. However, candidates who have obtained 45% marks in Mathematics separately with 60% aggregate marks in Physics and Chemistry put together are also eligible for admission. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.
The Candidate should pass the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or an examination recognized equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry for admission in a merit seat. Relaxation of 5% marks is admissible for the reservation category. Candidates obtaining 45% marks in aggregate for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission in Management and NRI Seats.
