Admissions to the Institute are made along with the other engineering colleges in the state through a common entrance test conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

The candidates who want to seek admission in SICET have to qualify in the EAMCET (Engineering, Agricultural, and Medical Common Entrance Test) examination conducted by the Government of TS. To be eligible for appearing in the EAMCET examination, the student should have passed the 10 + 2 with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as their main stream and should obtain a minimum of 50%.(i.e Inter-Group subjects)

The minimum qualification required for applying in a B. Tech course is 10+2 or its equivalent from any recognized Board. The students should study Mathematics with Physics and Chemistry in their 10+2.
