Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category), subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

The candidates with BE/Btech are selected based on marks scored in HSC (Academic/Vocational) as per the norms indicated below, category-wise.

OC - Minimum 45% marks in chem/physics/maths taken together with minimum 40% marks in individual subjects.
BC & BCM - Minimum 40% in chem/physics/Maths.
MBC & DNC - Minimum 40% marks in chem./physics/maths.
SC/SCA/ST - Minimum 40% marks in chem./physics/maths.

LATERAL ENTRY CANDIDATES

Diploma holders in relevant branch or B.Sc graduates with Maths as one of the major subjects are eligible for direct entry to the 2nd year BE/B.Tech courses as per norms indicated below
