The selection of the students for admission to the first-year Diploma course in engineering is based on the results of S.S.L.C./S.S.C. or any other examination equivalent to it, as recognized by the Karnataka Secondary Board, Bangalore. The admission is subject to the final approval of D. T. E., Bangalore.

Admission to diploma courses is based on merit in each category of reservation.

The student must have passed S.S.L.C / S.S.C. examination and studied Mathematics & Science subjects compulsory with minimum 35% marks in each subject.

The candidate must be a citizen of India.

For Technical(Engineering) Courses: should have passed Karnataka SSLC or equivalent examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate.

For Non-technical (Non-Engineering)Courses: a) Commercial Practice and Apparel Design & Fabrication Technology / Modern Office Management. Should have passed Karnataka SSLC or Equivalent Examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate. b) Library Science and Information Management: Should have passed Karnataka P.U.C-II or Equivalent examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate.

For both Engineering & Non-Engineering, the candidate should have completed at least five full academic years of study in Karnataka between the 1st Standard and the qualifying examination.
