Out of the total seats in any branch, 75% of the seats are filled through JEE, and 15% through the Central Council in Orissa. 15% of the seats are filled through ranks obtained under AIEEE. Counseling for such rank holders is conducted by BPUT. The remaining 10% seats are NRI quota. In case candidates are not available under the NRI quota, such lapsed/vacant seats are filled by the management quota at the institute level from students with a valid OJEE/AIEEE rank.

Admission Policy for Lateral Entry: The institute can take students in this category, maximum to an extent of 20% of the total capacity, subject to 60% marks in the diploma in engineering examination. The students will have to qualify in JEE and get admission in the 2nd year straightaway.  

Admission will be based on Rank in JEE(Main) or OJEE  

All students who have passed +2 science with Mathematics & Physics as core papers are eligible.

The Candidate Should have Passed 10+2 examination with Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology /Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subject / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship (Any of the three). Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to a reserved category) in the above subjects.
