Admission in GEC West Champaran for four years B.Tech. course is made through Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (B.C.E.C.E.) conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. The candidates desirous of seeking Admission in Ge are advised to appear in Screening & Main Examination of B.C.E.C.E.

Admission is based on the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), which conducts the entrance test in two stages. The first stage is the screening test. The screened candidates appear in the main examination (second stage). Based on the Merit List of the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (2nd stage), successful candidates have to go through counselling (third stage). Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
