The admission of students to courses right from notification to the selection of candidates is made by the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE), an agency constituted by the J&K State Government. The Applicant must be a permanent resident of J&K State as defined in Section-6 of the Constitution of the J&K; Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized statutory Board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and with at least 50% marks for Open Merit Category candidates and 45% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Other Socially and Educationally Backward classes.

Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of this University or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Diploma in Engineering of this University with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
