The Code is generally conducted during May and the notifications will appear in all leading newspapers. The COMEDK ranking is based on the performance of students in the COMEDK entrance test only. Seat Matrix is announced indicating seats available in different colleges in different branches based on the sanctioned intake.

Eligibility to join the 4 years Bachelor of Engineering courses of the Visvesvaraya Technological University is a pass in the two – year Pre University Examination (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto, subject to their having obtained a 45% ( 40% for SC/ST, Cat I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, and IIIB ) of marks in aggregate in the three subjects of Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects namely Chemistry, Biology, and Biotechnology.

The qualifying examination is the 2nd PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by the State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.

General Merit Candidate should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Karnataka state) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory along with Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as one the subjects. However, changes if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
