• Should have 135 marks out of 300 marks [135 marks (i.e., 45%) in the case of candidates belonging to Backward Class categories of Maharashtra State] in subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics added together. Should obtain a non-zero score in subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, added together at the IIT JEE Exam. 
• Diploma holders who have passed the Diploma courses in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 50% marks and medium of instruction as English from the polytechnic affiliated to MSBTE or AICTE approved autonomous Polytechnics in Maharashtra State (for Maharashtra State Candidates) or such polytechnic situated in/out of the State of Maharashtra (for OMS candidates only). Diploma candidates are admitted only on Institute Level Seats.

The Candidate Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed the Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category), subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
