A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) as given below with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage put together as given below.
The candidate should have passed the HSC (Academic / Vocational with Mathematics and Basic Mechanical Engineering / Basic Electrical Engineering / Basic Electronics Engineering / Basic Civil Engineering / Basic Automobile Engineering / Textile Technology) of Tamil Nadu or an equivalent examination recognized by Anna University with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For Lateral Entry (direct admission to second year), the Candidate should have passed the Diploma Examination in Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu or an equivalent examination.
