Admission is based on TNEA

TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission ) is a state-level counseling for admission to the undergraduate B.E./ B.Tech degree courses offered by the institutions or colleges located in the limits of Tamil Nadu state. TNEA counseling forms will be issued for the students who have completed higher secondary every year. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission TNEA is an authority conducting counseling for the 12th students who won't join in B.E, B.Tech, B.Arch.

Candidates of HSC (Academic) and Other Equivalent Examinations:

A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together as given below-

• General Category-50.00%
• Backward Class including Backward Class Muslim-45.00%
• MBC & DNC-40.00%
• SC/SCA/SCT-40.00% 

Candidates of HSC (Vocational):

A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) as given below with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage put together as given below.

• General Category-50.00%
• Backward Class including Backward Class Muslim-45.00%
• MBC & DNC-40.00%
• SC/SCA/SCT-40.00%

The candidates should be natives of Tamil Nadu state and are eligible to apply. The outsider candidates who studied their schooling in Tamil Nadu may also apply. The children of persons who have been serving in the public sector or government sector for the last five years in Tamil Nadu may also apply for TNEA. The candidates must have passed the 12th (intermediate)or its equivalent examination from the government-recognized board with the subjects as physics, mathematics, and chemistry with the percentage as 50 % (for general candidates), 45% (for the backward class including Muslim), 40% (MBC and DNC) and 35% (for SC/ST/SCA)candidates.
