Admission Details
Admission to the first year professional courses (Engineering and biology based courses) offered in Government and private colleges in the U.T. of Puducherry is done through Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC), constituted by the Government of Puducherry every academic year.
Lateral Entry- Admission to second year B.Tech. courses in PEC for the diploma holders is done through Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC-LE), constituted by the Government of Puducherry every academic year.
Admission is based on KEAM Entrance exam.
Eligibility Criteria
The Higher Secondary Examination of the (10+2) curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examination equivalent there to with minimum of 45% marks (a mere pass for OBC and SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of subjects – Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry / Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Biology (Botany & Zoology) or an Examination of any University or Authority recognized by the Executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto.
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
