Admissions are made as per State Government Norms. 65% of seats are through Single Window Counseling and 35% of seats are filled through the Consortium of Self-Financing Professional Colleges, Tamil Nadu, as per the norms of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility Criteria
1. A Candidate passed in HSC (academic stream) /CBSE/Pre-degree/Plus 2 equivalent school study with minimum eligibility in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
2. A pass in HSC (vocational stream) with Engineering / Technology as a vocational subject and any 1 or 2 of the related subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry.
3. Any equivalent qualification approved and recognized by the State Board of Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu and Universities in Tamil Nadu.
Candidates Must Have Minimum Pass Marks:
1. ST / SC / SCA / MBC & DNC / BC / BCM candidates can also apply under Open Competition in addition to the reservation made for them
2. A candidate who is eligible as per the university norms will be getting admission either through Management or through the open competition category. (AU Counselling)
Lateral Entry:
A pass in 3-year Diploma courses conducted by Tamil Nadu State Board of Technical Education or equivalent recognized by the board in the pre-final/ final semester of study. Category OC-45%, BC/MBC / DNC-40%, SC / ST-40% with Aggregate V & VI semester put together.
The student should have Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
