    First Year B.E. / B.Tech.

    The Candidate Passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology, Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

    Lateral entry (Second year) B.E. / B.Tech.

    • Passed Diploma examination from an AICTE-approved institution; with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology
    • Passed B. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject Provided that in case of students belonging to B. Sc. Stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first-year engineering program along with the second year subjects
    • Provided further that, the students belonging to B. Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream
    • Provided further that students, who have passed a Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE-approved institution or B. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC shall also be eligible for admission to the first-year Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in the first-year class in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

    a) Minimum Qualifications:

    • A pass in H.Sc. (Academic with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry) 
    • A pass in H.Sc.. (Vocational Stream in any one of the Vocational courses listed hereunder, with the related subject noted against each course. (or) 
    • Diploma in any one of the courses. (or) 
    • Any other equivalent qualification approved by the State Board of Technical Education / Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu. Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have passed the qualifying examination in not more than two appearances.

    b) Minimum Marks prescribed by the Govt of Tamil Nadu:

    i) H.Sc. (Academic) and other equivalent candidates: Average Marks in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry like OC 50%, BC/MBC/DNT 45%, SC/ST 40%.

    ii) H.Sc. (Vocational) candidates: Average Marks in Maths / Physics / Chemistry / Vocational subject under Part-III like OC 50%, BC/MBC/DNT 45%, SC/ST 40%.

    iii) For Diploma Holders: Average Marks in the last two semesters like OC 50%, BC/MBC/DNT 45%, SC/ST 40%.

    c) Students from other states:

    The students who have passed the qualifying examinations of the University / Board other than Madras / Madurai / Annamalai / Bharathiar / Bharathidasan University should obtain the Provisional Eligibility Certificate from the Registrar, after being admitted to the college. If the qualification is for any reason not recognized by Anna University, the candidate will have to discontinue the course.

    Lateral Entry Scheme: A pass with minimum eligible marks in the Diploma Course of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent course prescribed for the Degree course.
