• A Candidate Pass the HSC (Academic) or it's equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together as given below- General Category - 50% BC including BCM - 45% MBC and DNC - 40% SC / SCA /ST - 40%.
•  A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) as given with any one of the Engineering related Subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage put together as given below- General Category - 50% BC including BCM - 45% MBC and DNC - 40% SC / SCA / ST - 40% 
• For lateral Entry- 1. A pass with prescribed eligibility marks in any one of the Diploma in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribed for admission to the Degree course.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
