Most Backward Class Community (MBC) of Tamil Nadu: Pass in 12th standard or equivalent with an aggregate of at least 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. The candidate should produce the Community Certificate duly signed by the Tahsildar.

SC/ST Community of Tamil Nadu: pass in 12th standard or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. The Candidate should produce the Community Certificate duly signed by the Tahsildar.

Lateral Entry: 

• Other Communities : (Communities other than BC / MBC / SC / ST) Pass in 3-year Diploma examination conducted by the State Board of Technical Education of respective states in the relevant subjects with a minimum of 55% marks in the final year examination. Pass any recognized bachelor's degree in Science of a minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics as a subject
• Backward Class Community of Tamil Nadu: An aggregate of 50% marks in the final year diploma examination / Final year B.Sc.degree course
• Most Backward Class Community of Tamil Nadu: An aggregate of 45% marks in the final year diploma examination / final year B.Sc.degree course
• SC/ST Candidates of Tamil Nadu: A merit pass is enough in the Diploma Course

• Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of (10 +2) Curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry Subject.

  (OR) 

• Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Vocational Stream (Vocational groups in Engineering / Technology) as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Lateral Entry:

• The candidates who possess the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech. in the branch corresponding to the branch of study.

(OR) 

• The candidates who possess the Degree in Science (B.Sc.,) (10+2+3 stream) with Mathematics as a subject at the B.Sc. level are eligible to apply for admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech. Such candidates shall undergo two additional Engineering subject(s) in the third and fourth semesters or fourth and sixth semesters respectively as prescribed by the respective Faculty.
