The remaining 30% of students (B-category, i.e. Management/NRI) are admitted by the institution. Advertisement is given by the institution in popular regional newspapers calling for applications for B-category seats. Merit list is prepared from the applications received, placed in the notice boards. 20% of the seats for lateral entry admissions for diploma holders into the second year are made by the convener, E-CET.

The Candidate should passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

The Students must have passed 12th Standard with a related stream from a recognized board.
