The admissions are done strictly as per the norms and regulations laid down by the State Government of Odisha. For admission in the first year, an admission seeker needs to have a rank in the JEE (Main)conducted by CBSE. For admission in the second year through lateral entry, an admission seeker needs to have a rank in the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE), conducted by the State Government of Odisha.

1. The student has passed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics and Mathematics, plus any one of: Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Information Technology / Biotechnology / Agriculture / Electronics / other technical vocational subject.
2. Minimum 45% marks (aggregate of the above subjects) for the General category; 40% for SC/ST
3. Valid rank/score in JEE (Main) or OJEE for the current admission year.

Lateral Entry:

1. The student has passed a Three-year (or Two-year Lateral) Diploma in Engineering in a relevant branch from an AICTE-approved institution
2. Minimum 45% marks (General); 40% for SC/ST.
3. Qualified through OJEE (Lateral Entry) for the current admission year.

The student who has passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category), subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
